At the office of Optical Outlets , we utilize state-of-the-art approaches to improve your eye health and vision. Your ocular health is an important component of your overall health and well-being. When you visit our optometry office, you can rest assured that we are well equipped to meet your full range of needs. Conditions such as diabetes can increase your risk of vision loss, but with comprehensive eye examinations, we can diagnose diabetic retinopathy early on and recommend an appropriate course of treatment.

Diabetic retinopathy refers to a type of vision loss in people diagnosed with diabetes; this condition occurs when blood sugar levels rise and damage the retinal blood vessels. The onset of this condition may not present with any symptoms at first, which is why periodic eye examinations are of the utmost importance. As the condition progresses, your vision may become blurry or large floaters may appear in your field of vision. When you visit our optometry office, we will thoroughly examine the anatomy of the retina using a special instrument called an ophthalmoscope. If our optometrist discovers that diabetic retinopathy is present, we will perform further testing to determine the extent of it.  Prevention is key when it comes to this condition, and it is important to talk to your primary care doctor about how to best manage blood sugar levels to keep your eyes healthy.  Throughout your course of care, our team of professionals keeps you informed and at ease, addressing any questions you may have regarding treatment.   We keep pace with the most advanced technology and treatment methods to help you enjoy optimal eye health and vision.

At the office of Optical Outlets, we’re dedicated to providing the highest quality of skilled and compassionate care. For more information on our office and the many services that we provide, give us a call today.
